Katy Perry's image is young, fresh and original. She has created her own iconography inside and outside of her music, dressing in a similar style in her own time as well as in her music. Her image appeals mainly to females 15-30's. The fact her album is called Teenage Dream has interested more and more teenagers. Her attractive image also makes her popular with many males. Some of her risky videos and the nature of her songs means that her music is not really aimed at anyone too young. She is very original and quirky, this is shown within her lyrics, 'I kissed a girl' aswell as outside her music, where she is often seen wearing wigs and controversial outfits.

Katy Perry is currently launching her newest album named, Teenage dream.
To raise awareness about her album, she recently released a hit single, called Teenage Dream, which is also the name of the album. This single has now reached the No.1 slot in the charts, creating alot of media hype around the album. The album cover shows Katy's quirky and original style, as she is wearing an eletric blue wig. She is also making album history, as her album cover is actually scented like candy floss which reflects the image on the cover effectively and really shows her iconography well.

Katy is also a very active member on twitter, posting 1785 tweets to date. These constant updates give a personal touch between her and her audience. She also uses it to promote her
self, her new music and her album.

Although Katy Perry is American, she has a huge fan base in England. Due to her the release of album she recently paid England many visits, which successfully strengthened her fan base. She appeared as a guest judge on The Xfactor and made an appearance on Alan Carr's Chattyman.

She is also popular with the UK due to her longterm relationship with presenter Russel Brand who is also a popular figure in the UK. Together they have become a strong media couple and it is benefiting them both, especially Katy in the UK.
