Throughout the research, planning and evaluation stages I have attempted to use various new media technologies to assist me.
The main website I have used to assist me throughout this process has been www.blogger.com,
the site has allowed me to keep an updated record for the development of my music video. It has allowed me to order my work, and show the process I have been through. The only limitation I found is that photos cannot be pasted it in, only uploaded.

During my planning I made use of the popular website 'YouTube' to help me look for music videos, and differentiate which were narrative/performance base/concept based. I also used the site to see what conventions were used in the indie genre, to see how I could follow the conventions. I have also used the website to present question 2 of my evaluation. It was very simple and effective to use, the annotations gave it the information I needed. However it was more complex than I thought it would be. I had to put the text onto powerpoint, and then convert it on Windows Movie Maker before I achieved the final prouduct.

In order to research target audiences, I used Internet to view various artists webpages, I also did this to see if I wanted to do a website for my ancillary tasks. The websites helped me to decide how to brand my band.

I have found PowerPoint very useful when it has come to presenting my work, especially annotating my ancillary tasks. I have been able to show my thoughts in a clear and effective manner.

I used Microsoft Word in order to track down the fonts that have been used on the ancillary tasks. The programme is extremely simple so I could not explore fonts as much as I wanted too. If i was to undertake the process again I would look further into what programmes are available.

I used the Mac's Imovie software in order to upload and produce our film. The software was very effective and allowed us to cut our video, as well as add in the various transitions we desired. I was not very experienced with the software, but once I had got used to it I found it very easy to use.

I have also used the Window's Movie Maker in order to produce the video i uploaded to YouTube. I had to do this in order to get the JPEG files into a video format. Although I got my final video, I did not find it very easy to get the desired timings that I required.

In order to upload our video to blogspot, we used the conversion site, Tinypic.com, it gave us the html code we needed. Although the site was very efficient, next time I would look for a website which produced higher quality videos.

For our ancillary tasks we used adobe photoshop. It allowed us to put the various images together alongside texts. We also managed to edit the photos and make them slightly darker in order to mirror the bleak mood of the song. It was very helpful when it came to composing our tasks, as it allowed us to crop and layer images.
When filming our actual video, we used a Nikon Camera, it was extremely easy to use. We also used a tripod but it was limited slightly as it was fairly shot meaning we had some hand held shots where we had not intended.
We also used my Sony DSC-W320 camera to take the still shots for our ancillary tasks.
