Branding - Rihanna

Rihanna is an artist with a strong image and brand. She presents herself as a 'good girl gone bad', and incorportaes this image into everything. It involves her being dressed as a bad girl, but often keeping elements of a pretty girl. This is clear from her website, it's mainly pink whjich holds the good girl elements, but the bad girl comes through clearly with the tatoo and black background.

To confirm her new image Rihanna even released an album named 'Good Girl Gone Bad', and this was the start of her new image. As her music started to get alot riskier and deeper than her previous music. This came across in how she was presented. Here her image comes across clearly, as her leather trousers represent a bad girl, but her corset and makeup keep her feminine and show aspects of a good girl.

Rihanna's merchandise does a good job at mirroring her image. The colour is predominantly bag showing her wild side, with white and grey to compliment and conrtast. She is usually shown with big hair and very little clothing representing her bad girl image.
